Griffith Observatory
Even after the previous night's festivities we managed to get up bright and early. We checked out
of the hotel and drove North towards Hollywood.
The first destination on our tour for the day was the Griffith Observatory. We drove up
some beautiful streets with some amazing houses... winding up and around the mountains.
As we approached the observatory we saw a lot of construction equipment lying around and
fences up everywhere. Apparently, Griffith Observatory has been closed for renovation
for quite some time.
So we stood outside the fences and took a few pictures. The overcast, rainy weather brought with it
a rather dense fog which covered much of the view. However, we could still barely make out
the Hollywood Sign in the hills.
We chatted with some bicyclers who were also near the observatory. They suggested
that we rent a couple of bikes and see the trails. Given the weather, that is highly
unlikely!
We then headed back down the mountain and over towards the Hollywood Bowl.
